Fr. Geoff Meagher, S.J.

Message from Fr. Geoff Meagher S.J., Hazaribagh Province Co-ordinator for Alumni, for the 4th National Congress held in Jamshedpur on October 29-31, 2004.

My dear fellow alumni/ae,

The Theme of our 4th JAAI National Congress - “Networking makes the Difference” says it all. We all want to make a difference in society today, transforming society and building a New India based on justice and prosperity for all. We all want to be men and women for and with others - men and wemen of competence, conscience and compassionate commitment. Our task and our resolve are clear. What we need is to work together, to pool our many resources, to accompany and support one another, to be connected, so that our combined effort will make a difference.

We strive together for a difference in our personal and professional lives and above all to make a difference in the lives of those who are marginalised, forgotten, left behind by the cruel onslaught of a heartless globalisation, exploited and sidelined, handicapped by disease and illiteracy. Our Congress then is an opportunity we must take very seriously and work together so that JAAI may grow and flourish as we all want it to. In my office, i have a simple poster which says : “People may doubt what you say, but they will always believe what you do”. Let us make JAAI something to believe in and be proud of.

May God bless us all in our endeavour.
